IVolunteer International Writers’ Council Recruits 3rd Cohort

IVolunteer International’s Writers’ Council was established in 2019 with the goal of establishing an online platform for youth leaders and writers to share their stories and the stories of others. The Writers’ Council fuels our blog and stands as a platform for change-making, and a source for inspiration to our readers. Established under the leadership of Balkis Chaabane, the Writers’ Council is currently headed by Maulline Gragau (Editor-in-Chief) and Esther Brito (Sub-Editor).

Since it’s inception in 2019, the Writers’ Council has trained 12 writers from around the world on blogging and academic writing and has been the driving force behind 100+ articles on youth activism, human rights, sustainable development goals, advocacy, and much more. After a comprehensive and competitive selection process, IVolunteer International has just confirmed 9 writers from around the world for the 3rd Cohort, which will span for 6 months starting on September 1, 2020.

The list of selected candidates are below:

  • Andrew Mayende – Kenya
  • Latoyaa Roberts – Trinidad & Tobago
  • Lynet Tinoza – Zimbabwe
  • Anna Luthringer – United States
  • M’Bilo Esther – Belgium
  • Senyo Agbleze – Ghana
  • Gurjinder Khambay – Netherlands
  • Juan Manuel Nader – Colombia
  • Adwitya Taneja – India

These new writers will contribute to IVolunteer International’s blog, shed a light on youth activism and sustainable development around the globe and bring to the spotlight local issues with local call-to-action. They will all work in a virtual environment, connecting with a globally diverse team to create one of the world’s largest youth-led online platforms ever.

Orientation for the next cohort took place online via Zoom and the new participants got to know each other, shared their passion, and engaged in a quick training process on WordPress, blogging ethics, SEO utilization, and interview and event guides.

You can learn more about the individual writers on their profiles page.
