It was such a great sight to see the whole of Sri Lanka coming together irrespective of cast, creed, class or culture to help the people in need in this very disastrous times. Sri Lanka has truly exposed it’s unity within communities. We hope it continues this way. In order to increase the effectivity of the collection centers and the distribution channels, we rolled out a project to collect all the information of collection and distribution points across Sri Lanka so that we can publish the information for the reference of the people and organizations involved in this humanitarian project.

This article will be updated daily until Friday, May 27, 2016. The “location” of the collection center is highlighted for your convenience, so you’ll be able to locate the most convenient location.
IVolunteer International, together with the Rotaract Club of NSBM, Royal College Group of 2013 and RevPort Media Network is hosting “Flood-The-Love.” Donors can drop off dry rations, clothes, water bottles, sanitary items and medicine on the 24th of May 2016 anytime between 2:00PM and 7:00PM at the American National College (ANC), Colombo. They will then hand over the donations to the Army Disaster Management Program.

If you’re abroad you can donate to the following organizations and initiatives.
You can donate to Sarvodaya directly through their website. They have partnered up with Siyatha TV, Siyatha FM, Varnam TV, Varnam FM, Kiss FM and Real Radio on the ground to provide help.
You can also donate online to Red Cross Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Unites. Takas has an online store where you can purchase goods. A group of Old Boys from Trinity College Kandy is also accepting donations while pushing forward support on the ground. You can donate to them here.
PickMe has joined with Swarnavahini Aid to provide donations to the affected areas. If you’re using their app, you can choose the “Flood Aid” button to call for a donation pick up and they will contact you regarding the collection process. They have also partnered up with the Ministry of Defense to Air-Lift people who need immediate attention. You can use the “iMan” in the PickMe app to notify the coordinates of the people in need of immediate attention and clicking the “Air-Lift” button.
The Sambodhi Viharaya is collecting dry rations, clothes, water bottles, medicine, First Aid, biscuits and crackers on the 20th of May, 2016 at Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07. Contact them on 011-433-5590. Their focus area is Kolonnawa.
One World Volunteers are collecting dry rations, clothes, water bottles, medicine, First Aid, biscuits and crackers at McDonald’s situated in Race Course, Colombo 07 from 20th May (10:00AM – 5:00PM) till 22nd May (10:00AM – 5:00PM). Contact Naveen on 077-884-8112 for more details.
A group of old boys from Trinity College Kandy are collecting donations online while operating a collection center at 321/3A, 1st Lane, Kalapuwawa, Rajagiriya from 19th May – 29th May 2016. You can contact Gamini – 077-551-2777, Thimal – 077-7525952 and Anjana – 077-353-7099 for more details.
The Rotaract Clubs of Colombo West, Colombo Regency, University of Kelaniya, Cinnamon Gardens, American National College, Excellence College and Jaffna has partnered up with TNL Radio Network, Swedish Trading Auto Visual (Pvt) Ltd, and the Excellence College of Higher Education to collect everything you can give from 19th May – 22 May 2016 2016 at ANC, Colombo. Cash donations can be deposited in favor of the “Rotaract Club of Colombo West” to Commercial Bank Account 1170012888. Care Sri Lanka is collecting money to the Sampath Bank Account 121357000385 under the name of M.D. Nissanka, hoping to purchase and donate dry rations, water bottles, medicine, First-Aid, biscuits and crackers on 21st of May and 22nd of May. The Movement is collecting dry rations, clothes, biscuits, hygiene products and pampers from 20th May – 1st June 2016 at No 18, Swarnadisi Place, Koswatta road, Nawala Koswatta. Contact Hafsa Jamel – 077-029-4140 and Hassen – 077-296-2111. Their focus area is Malwana and around Colombo.
Nehemiah Consultants and Gospel Vision TV is collecting dry rations, water bottles, medicine and First-Aid, biscuits and crackers at 71A, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07 from 8:00AM – 10:00PM. For more information contact Nishu on 077-523-4333. They will hand over their donations to the Sri Lanka Army and ITN.
The Enable Lanka Foundation, International Movement for Community Development, AIESEC Sri Lanka, JCI Sri Lanka and many other youth organizations in Colombo have collaborated and initiated an event to collect dry rations, clothes, water bottles, medicine, biscuits and crackers from 18th May – 28th of May 2016.
