Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI) provides 1,800 meals a day to older adults in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty counties. The non-profit agency founded in 1959 began as neighbor helping the neighbor with a few brown bag lunches. Now, along with meals, this dynamic organization provides adult daytime care for frail older adults, neighborhood centers for fellowship and fun, The Learning Center – SCI’s lifelong learning program for older adults – and much more.

Volunteer Opportunity

The 9th Annual Miles for Meals 5K Run/Walk is a great way to have fun, get some exercise, and do good. Bring your dog (on a leash), kids in strollers, dress as your favorite food and help Senior Citizens Inc. (SCI) FIGHTSENIOR HUNGER in our community!

Race starts at Senior Citizens, Inc. on Bull Street, goes down the picturesque Washington Avenue, through part of Daffin Park and back down Washington Avenue to Senior Citizens, Inc.
