CFC is a charity that provides bikes and trikes to children affected by cancer. They have charity bike shops around the UK where they refurbish donated bikes, then sell them to raise the funds to buy new bikes. CFC is opening a new shop in Cheltenham, which will also be a large workshop where all donated bikes with be cleaned and fixed up ready for sale in their shops. The charity is looking for volunteers to help clean and fix up these donated bikes. CFC will have qualified mechanics providing the training needed. Ideally, they are looking for hands-on, practical people who are interested in bikes/cycling, but also anyone who is enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of children affected by cancer.
The main role of our volunteers will be refurbishing donated bikes so that they are fit for sale. This could include anything from washing/cleaning bikes to removing broken parts and fitting new ones. Training will be provided by qualified mechanics.
Location: Sunshine Industrial EstateChurchill RoadCheltenham, Gloucestershire GL53 7EPUnited Kingdom
Training will be provided by qualified mechanics, so CFC do not expect volunteers to be fully qualified mechanics. Ideally, they would like practical hands-on people who wish to learn.
